This is definitely a museum that is designed to be enjoyed by all ages, with plenty of hands on fun for kids and lots to reminisce over for older adults.

According to The Henry Ford website,

“It (the Henry Ford Museum) began as a simple yet bold idea to document the genius of ordinary people by recognizing and preserving the objects they used in the course of their everyday lives. It grew into the ultimate place to explore what Americans past and present have imagined and invented”

When you visit, make sure you check out the impressive collection of presidential limousines including limousines that were used to transport Theodore Roosevelt and John F. Kennedy.

You can teach your children all about the importance of American Industry with the Made In America exhibit that celebrates American innovators from the 18th to the 20th centuries.

The Driving America exhibit features all the historic auto-mobiles you would expect, with plenty of digital and interactive play that you might not have expected, and your kids will love to see the drive-in theatre!

The museum doesn’t only focus on cars, but also features, trains, planes, history, memorabilia and electronic equipment of various types. There is so much to see, do and explore that you’ll want to allow plenty of time, in order to not feel rushed. Many visitors said in reviews that even after three or four hours in the museum they didn’t have a chance to see everything.

The museum is open seven days a week, except that it is closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

Children four and under are free. Children from the ages of 5 to 12 are $15. Adults pay $20 for admission to the museum, and seniors who are 62 years old or older pay $18. In addition to the museum, you can visit the Henry Ford Village, take in an IMAX or take the Ford Rouge Factory Tour. All of these activities have an additional cost but discounts are available when you are visiting more than one attraction. If you do plan on visiting multiple Henry Ford attractions, you might want to spread them out over multiple days to have ample time to really enjoy each one.
